Shipping, Receiving, and Inventory Clerks
Shipping, Receiving, and Inventory Clerks at ForseMark are integral
members of the team responsible for
managing the flow of products and materials within the company.
They play a crucial role in ensuring
efficient shipping and receiving processes, accurate inventory management,
and timely delivery of goods.

Typical Duties
- Receive incoming shipments of materials, supplies, and products.
Verify contents against shipping documents and purchase orders.
- Unload trucks, containers, or delivery vehicles using forklifts, pallet
jacks, or other equipment as necessary.
- Inspect received items for damage, defects, or discrepancies. Document
and report any issues to the appropriate departments.
- Prepare and package outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and compliance
with shipping regulations and customer requirements.
- Generate shipping labels, packing slips, and bills of lading using
computerized systems or software.
- Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and couriers to schedule
pickups and deliveries.
- Arrange transportation and logistics for shipments, considering cost-effectiveness
and delivery timelines.
- Maintain organized and efficient storage of products and materials
in warehouse or storage areas.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and audits to reconcile discrepancies
and ensure accurate stock levels.
- Update inventory records in the system, including quantities, locations,
and movements.
- Monitor inventory levels and reorder points, notifying purchasing
or production departments as needed.
- Implement proper handling and storage procedures to prevent damage,
loss, or spoilage of inventory.
- Assist with cycle counting, stock rotation, and FIFO (first in, first
out) practices to maintain product freshness and quality.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, production, and
customer service, to fulfill orders and resolve issues.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines for handling hazardous materials,
if applicable.
Experience and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training
in logistics, supply chain management, or related field is a plus.
- Previous experience as a Shipping, Receiving, or Inventory Clerk in
a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures, including knowledge
of carriers, shipping documents, and customs regulations.
- Proficiency in using computerized inventory management systems and
software.
- Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment
safely and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in verifying shipments, counts,
and inventory records.
- Excellent organizational skills to maintain neat and orderly warehouse
or storage areas.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with carriers, vendors, and
internal departments.
- Problem-solving abilities to address shipping errors, inventory discrepancies,
and logistics challenges.
- Physical stamina for lifting, carrying, and moving heavy boxes or
materials.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and practices for warehouse operations.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing
priorities.
