Facilities Manager


Job Description

As a Facilities Manager at ForseMark,LLC, you will be responsible for
overseeing the maintenance, safety, and functionality of our facilities.

Your role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient operation of our manufacturing
plant and creating a safe and productive work environment for our employees.


Duties and Responsibilities


Facility Maintenance:

  • Develop and implement maintenance programs to ensure the upkeep and functionality of buildings, equipment, and systems.
  • Schedule and oversee routine inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Coordinate with external contractors, vendors, and service providers for maintenance and repair projects.

Health and Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, implementing policies and procedures to maintain a safe workplace.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, hazard assessments, and emergency drills.
  • Investigate and address safety incidents, accidents, and near-misses, implementing corrective actions as needed.

Security and Access Control:

  • Develop and implement security protocols, access control systems, and surveillance measures to protect company assets and employees.
  • Monitor and respond to security alarms, incidents, and breaches, coordinating with security personnel as necessary.
  • Maintain key control systems, security badges, and visitor management procedures.
  • Work closely with the facility Security Supervisor.

Space Planning and Utilization:

  • Optimize space utilization within the facility, coordinating office layouts, workstations, and storage areas.
  • Plan and oversee facility renovations, expansions, and reconfigurations to meet operational needs.
  • Collaborate with department heads to allocate space and resources effectively for production and support functions.

Utilities Management:

  • Monitor and manage utility usage, including electricity, water, gas, and waste disposal.
  • Implement energy conservation initiatives, sustainability programs, and eco-friendly practices.
  • Evaluate utility costs, negotiate contracts with providers, and identify opportunities for cost savings.

Emergency Preparedness and Response:

  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans, evacuation procedures, and crisis management protocols.
  • Conduct drills and training exercises to prepare employees for emergencies and disasters.
  • Coordinate with local authorities, emergency services, and community resources for emergency response efforts.

Equipment and Machinery Maintenance:

  • Coordinate equipment upgrades, installations, and decommissioning projects.

Budgeting and Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage facility budgets, tracking expenses, forecasting costs, and reporting variances.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities, efficiency improvements, and capital investment needs.
  • Procure supplies, materials, and equipment within budgetary constraints, seeking competitive bids and negotiating contracts.

Environmental Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, permits, and reporting requirements.
  • Implement environmental sustainability initiatives, waste management programs, and pollution prevention measures.
  • Conduct environmental audits, assessments, and remediation projects as needed.

Vendor and Contractor Management:

  • Select, contract, and manage vendors, suppliers, and service providers for facility-related services.
  • Negotiate service agreements, service level agreements (SLAs), and maintenance contracts.
  • Evaluate vendor performance, quality of work, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead and supervise a team of facilities staff, including maintenance technicians, custodial workers, and security personnel.
  • Provide training, coaching, and professional development opportunities to enhance team skills and performance.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the facilities department.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred).

  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or similar certification is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience as a Facilities Manager or similar role, with expertise in facility operations, maintenance, and management.
  • Knowledge of building systems, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in facility management software, computer-aided facility management (CAFM) tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
