Job Description

As an Extruding and Drawing Machine Setter, Operator, and Tender at ForseMark, you will be responsible for setting up and operating machines to produce various products from raw materials. This role plays a critical part in our manufacturing processes, ensuring the efficient and precise production of quality goods.


Typical Duties

  • Set up and prepare extruding and drawing machines for production runs according to specifications.
  • Install dies, tooling, and other machine components needed for the manufacturing process.
  • Load raw materials, such as metals, plastics, or polymers, into the machine hoppers or feed mechanisms.
  • Adjust machine settings, controls, and parameters to achieve desired product dimensions and properties.
  • Monitor machine operations, gauges, and indicators to ensure proper functioning and quality output.
  • Start and stop machines, observe product samples, and make adjustments as needed during production runs.
  • Perform regular inspections and quality checks on finished products to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Troubleshoot machine malfunctions, mechanical issues, or production problems to minimize downtime.
  • Clean, maintain, and lubricate machines, tooling, and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Record production data, including quantities, dimensions, and any deviations from process parameters.
  • Coordinate with other team members, such as material handlers or quality control inspectors, to optimize workflow.
  • Follow safety protocols, procedures, and guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries.
  • Participate in training sessions or workshops to enhance machine operation skills and knowledge.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of process improvements or efficiency enhancements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.

Experience and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in machine operation preferred.
  • Proven experience as a machine setter, operator, or tender in an extrusion or drawing process.
  • Knowledge of extrusion and drawing techniques, equipment, and materials.
  • Familiarity with machine controls, gauges, and indicators for monitoring production processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and product specifications.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to address machine issues.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to lift, load, and manipulate materials and tools.
  • Attention to detail and precision in monitoring product quality and machine operation.
  • Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with team members and supervisors.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environmen
